lonG tiME nO sEE..

am riding on the greyhound now as i do this entry. yepz! am heading to houston bcoz mon will be labour day so i'll have a long weekend. i'll most prob skip school on tue so that means i'll be staying over at my aunt jac's place for 4 days and 4 nitez! not to forget great food too! *drips saliva.. have been busy dotaing, catching up with friends and family members and enjoying good food that i've not done an try since i went back to singapore. so here i am with a big sorri to all my loyal readers.

felt realli sad and unwilling when i've to leave singapore this time. was not looking forward to coming back, bcoz there is so much (i use the word 'much' bcoz it is simply uncountable!) things that i will miss. But fortunately everything has turned out much better than i expected, so it remains to be seen. the biggest comfort i can relish is my new apartment. it's much bigger and spacious than chapparral. best thing about it is that it comes with a big kitchen, in which i've whipped up a few mouth-watering dishes *lol.. hopefully i'll be able to perfect my art of cooking before i return to spore for good. after all cooking has always been an interest of mine. jon & i missed each other when i arrived in SA. according to him, he said he had reached at 430pm (before i touched down bcoz my flight got delayed). however, i didnt see him at all when i was picking up my luggage. i even left a message in his cellphone saying i'll be waiting where he dropped me off the last time. eventually, i heard his page and the time was 6pm. paid for his parking and dropped by cici's pizza to buy dinner for him, john and alex. didnt unpack bcoz the front office was closed which means i cant check in. so guess where i sleep that night? yea..the couch! (which was surprisingly comfortable) *haha.. i guess sleep deprivation for 48hrs caused me to knock out quickly.

something unexpected happened when i returned to SA. the classes that i had registered for fall DISAPPEARED! technically speaking, i do not have any classes at all for this fall! was so shocked when i realised that, and immediately went to the biz building com lab to get them to reset my ASAP password. guess what? they say the ASAP server is down and that they couldn't reset my password for me. worst of all is that they have no idea when the server will be up again! that seriously pissed me off. by the way, this all happened the day before school was set to reopen (since i returned to SA only on mon's evening). as always, i've not been very pleased with the administration over this side of the globe. fortunately, i was able to reset my own password MYSELF! am i an it technician or wat? aniwae i quickly got down to registering for classes which was to start the next day! as you have guessed, a lot of classes i had orginally for were already full. as a result, i planned a new schedule for this fall. the only good thing (so far) that came out of this incident was that i had come up with a better schedule than before. will be taking 7 classes this semester. it's going to be more crazy, rigourous, tough, sleep deprivation and hair pulling this semmester. am taking texas politics, american history: post civil war to present, physiology, anatomy, physiology lab, guitar and computer science. i'm intending to clep chemistry, college algebra and writing classes. if successful, that will mean i've done 10 classes this semester! *stuns..

here's a bried intro on each of my professors:
history: ms andria crosson. she comes across to me as someone who has great beliefs and determination. however, that doesnt means she forces her views on me but rather through her lessons and herself as an example, she lets me see why see believes certain things. she's definately one of thos profs who are genuinely concerned bout her students. 9/10 (1 mark for speaking too fast in class that i cannot take down all of what she is saying in class)

politics: mr jim startin. his classes is extremely interesting. a big burly man with an excellent sense of humour. i don't think anyone can fall asleep in his class, a total contrast to my history class last semester when i was just snoozing through every class. however, he is the kind of profs who feels that how well a student does is the student's responsiblity. in short, he does his best to teach but doesnt care a hoot bout how you score. 8.5/10

moss: she is both my physiology and anatomy professor. her classes tend to be boring and monotonous. but she gets her job done and makes sure everyone understands what she is saying before moving on. poor hanadwriting worth noting too bcoz i always have so much trouble reading what she is writing. 7/10

guitar: mr ritcher reminds me of the sheriffs in those western cowboys movies. tall, lean and specky with a moustache. but in modern times, he is a very good guitarist. nice teacher with a caring attitude. afterall, he didnt rant at me for not having my guitar the past 2 weeks (since i've no strings) but his classes go a lil too slow for my liking. 7/10

computer science: mr kwek is a downright boring teacher. from his surname, you'll prob guess he's asian. my guess is china (from his accent) though he does have a sporean look. i consider what he teaches in class to be extremely basic in this day and age. he has been covering the paarts of a computer like mouse and keyboard etc. and what you can do with a computer like how to copy and paste etc. i realli felt like telling him that my 8yr old cousin even knows how to do all these things he is teaching! it doesnt help that he juz speaks to his computer monitor. worst of all, he doesnt answer the point of the question when students ask him a question. a classic example is iasked him what is the laboratory thing on our webct (utsa learning portal). guess what he answered me? he said it's very easy and that i have to do it. DUHZ! what a dumbass! 1/10 yes. it may be harsh but he deserves it

physiology lab: i've only attended lab once but mr ekbar gives me the impression that he is a very serious person. after all, he was stressing the fact he's a very fair person throughout the lesson. i can see some amount of committment and dedication. 8/10 (extra mark for remembering my name in juz the first lesson)

recently, i came up with an invention that made me very pleased with myself. i tot i my shower curtain was with my stuffs that i left over here for the summer, apparently it's not so i guess i've to come with another solution if not my bathroom floor will be wet after i shower. i saw a pile of wal-mart plastic bags in my apartment and with a stroke of genius i decided to make a shower curtain out of wal-mart plastic bags! here's a look at it.

at first, i tot this will be a temporary shower curtain which i would replace the next time i headed down to wal-mart but as a matter of fact, this self-made shower curtain has worked so surprisingly well that i dont intend to replace it anymore. *lol.. my aunt jac read this sure shake head. my aunt mabel read this sure say cheapskate. my uncle alan read this sure say miser. am i right? *smilez.. but that's not ture lorz..i was making the most of the available resources i had, at the same time ensuring that it was cost efficient and environmentally safe too. *haha..
wow. this is a very long entry. it's to make up for the long absence so enjoy!
